Think of the windowpanes in your house. You know the ones .. clear, see-through, made of glass, fragile.
Now think of everything you can do to a windowpane. Nail boards over the top, pull the curtains tight. Paint it, like all of the pretty stained glass that sits in the church windows. Sometimes it gets dirty, right? And it's cleanable. But there's one thing, you could break it. And can you fix it after that? Can you glue it all back together? Maybe if it's a scratch, but not if you shatter it. And even if you're able to glue it all back together, it will never be the same.
People, are like windowpanes. Think about it. Everything we just said about windows, can be done to people. Nailing boards, pulling curtains... shutting themselves in and closing everyone else out. Painting over it like stained glass... a persona, the way that people portray themselves, even if it isn't necessarily how they are, the things the post or say, their persona on social medias. When it gets dirty, is when they could go downhill or mess something up, but it's cleanable... rehab centers, therapy, counseling.
Let me finish with the point of breaking it. When you break a person, when you hurt them so badly, that's never one hundred percent repairable. They crack, or they shatter ... and even when you try to fix it, they might give the appearance of being okay but they will never be the same. The apology glue can't fill all of those cracks.
